Your child will be sent home on Wednesday, October 15, at the same time they were sent home on the September 3-hour early release Wednesday. For example, if your child stayed at Woodlawn until 4pm on the last early release Wednesday, they will stay until 4pm on the next early release Wednesday.
🍴No-Cost Meals Available for Students on October 13
On Monday, October 13 (Indigenous Peoples' Day/Student Holiday), we are offering a free lunch and snack to all children aged 18 and under.
Here are the key details:

When: Meals served together from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Meals must be eaten on-site at participating schools.

Who: Only children 18 and under may receive one lunch and one snack.

🔬 Family Science Night
- Join us for Family Science Night on October 14 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm, in the Cafeteria brought to you by The Children’s Science Center Lab.

Activities include: Stacking Currency: Building Financial Literacy, Monster Math: Creating with Probability, Forensic Fun: Mystery Solved, among others.
- Students will be participating in these hands-on experiments, specially designed to provoke interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

🍂 Fall Festival at Mount Vernon High School
Don't miss the Mount Vernon High School Theatre Arts Boosters Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the high school! Enjoy kids activities, games, food, a market, and join the Costume and Jack-O-Lantern Contests. It's a fun-filled event for the whole family!
💻Lightspeed Student Online Activity Report (New Service!)
Starting Sunday, October 12, parents and guardians with SIS ParentVUE access will be automatically enrolled to receive a weekly Lightspeed Student Online Activity Report via email.
This free service provides a summary of your child's online activity on FCPS devices from the previous week.
Each report also includes a link to the Lightspeed Parent Portal, where you can:

Pause internet access on your child’s FCPS laptop during non-school hours (e.g., dinner, bedtime).
