The program provides supplies, books, and curriculum activity packets to help prepare your child for kindergarten with activities relating to mathematics, reading, science, writing, motor skills, and language development.

The program will run from September 30th until the second week of November, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn.

To sign up, text our Family Liaison, Julie Bueno, at 571-363-0397.

⏰ K-12 School Start Times Survey

FCPS is exploring options for adjusting school start times, with the primary goal of beginning the middle school day at 8 a.m. or later. Elementary and high school start times would need to shift as well.

A new School Start Times Survey is open through Tuesday, September 30. It includes two options that are designed to support student well-being, align with research, balance transportation logistics, and minimize costs.

Staff, parents and caregivers, students, and community members may provide input on the two options by taking the survey. Find more information about adjusting school start times

🏆🗓️September Attendance Challenge! 🗓️🏆

We're kicking off our first attendance challenge of the school year, and it comes with a sweet reward! Our school counselors are challenging students to have great attendance from Tuesday, September 3rd to Monday, September 30th.

Students who meet the challenge will get to celebrate their hard work with a popsicle party🥳!

Let's make this a great month for attendance!

🐾 Woodlawn Pause with Ms. Hill

Hello Woodlawn Families!

Enjoy this week’s Woodlawn Pause called Elevator Breath.

This breath is great for moments we need to bring our energy down to calm and feel safe in our bodies.  It can be used after we have been crying, yelling, being angry or if we are super frustrated- for the really BIG feelings when they come through.  Connecting our breath to the slow movement of our hand, reminds our bodies that if we move slowly and calmly, that can help our minds come to rest.

You access the video here.

2025 Student Rights and Responsibilities

FCPS’ Student Rights and Responsibilities document (SR&R) explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment.

Parents/caregivers should talk to their child(ren) about expectations for this school year. Also, please log in to SIS ParentVUE and sign to acknowledge your review of the SR&R, or sign and return the signature sheet to your child’s school by 🗓️ Tuesday, September 30.
