Charger Students and Families,
Get ready, Chargers! We're charged up to welcome everyone back to school on Monday, August 18th!
Official student school schedules will be available online in SIS (StudentVUE and ParentVue) starting at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, August 14th.
For now, we can't accept schedule change requests unless there's an error. But don't worry, we'll have an official add/drop period from August 22nd to September 5th. To request a change during this time, just email your school counselor, and they'll help you out if there are open spots in the class you want.
Orientation, Open House and Back to School Night
Tomorrow, Thursday August 14 is a big day at Chantilly:
Freshman and New Student Orientation

Arrival -We highly recommend taking the bus, walking, or biking to avoid traffic. We'll have a temporary "Kiss and Ride" in the morning, but it won't be available for pickup due to bus loading.
-
Pickup - If you're picking up your student, please find a parking spot and arrange a meeting place. Do not park in the fire lane!
Charging-In Open House
4:30 PM - 5:45 PM: This is an informal time to come meet your teachers, grab some cool CHS swag, and learn about all the awesome clubs and activities!
- We'll have food trucks and a chance to catch up with friends and neighbors.
- Students can pick up laptops and their parking passes
- Parking is limited, so please walk, bike, or take the shuttle bus from Franklin MS. You can also find extra parking at Greenbriar West ES.
In-Person Back to School Night (for parents/caregivers)
6:00 PM - 7:45 PM: Parents and caregivers, this is your chance to follow your student's schedule and meet each of their teachers. They'll share what your student will be learning, what they expect, and how you can contact them.
- Please bring a copy of your student’s schedule! We won't have paper copies available, so you'll need to print it from ParentVue or have your student write it down for you or send you a screen shot!
Can’t make it? Don’t worry! We will have a virtual Back To School Night Website posted to the Chantilly website with teacher videos and resources in early September.
Monday, August 18th: First Day of School! Classes start at 8:10 a.m. Monday is an “A” day (periods 1, Homeroom, 5, 7).

School Lunch Update
Starting in SY25-26, students will enter their student ID number (not their current cafeteria PIN) at the cash register to receive school meals.
Parents/caregivers need to provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meal benefits. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students and $3.50 for middle, secondary, and high school students. Food and Nutrition Services has a standardized process for requesting dietary accommodations to make sure every child eats safe and healthy food at school.
Cell Phone Policy Update for High Schools
Beginning in August, high school students can only use their cell phones and other personal devices (AirPods, smart watches, etc.) during lunch and before or after school. This is a change from FCPS’ current cell phone policy, which allows high schoolers to use devices during passing periods. Next school year, students must keep devices off and away during classroom time and during passing periods between classes.
Read more about the Cell Phone Policy.
