Dear Woodson Families,
We are so excited to start another school year together! The PTSO supports many important initiatives at Woodson, including:
- A grant program to help fund specific requests from Woodson clubs, organizations and departments. Last year we provided significant grants to several staff members and student organizations, including Cavbotics and Model Judiciary.
- Teacher and staff appreciation programs, including a Back to School Breakfast, the Holiday Lunch and the Spring Snack Wagon
- Community support programs such as the Community Pantry and family enrichment events
We cannot carry out these programs without your support! Our main source of funding is through PTSO memberships. 100% of the funds raised through PTSO memberships go back to the Woodson community.
This year, there are many ways you can join the PTSO. We have membership contribution levels of $30 for an individual, $50 for the whole family, and a $100 Friends of Woodson membership. You can sign up for a membership on our website, by visiting the PTSO table at any Back to School event, or by scanning one of the QR codes below.
Also, if you or someone you know has a small business that would like to support Woodson, we are offering Small Business Sponsorships for a $250 contribution. Small Business Sponsors will receive a spot in our “Support a Sponsor” section of the weekly WeMail, and spotlight feature on the Woodson PTSO facebook page.

Woodson Athletic Teams and Clubs: Please send us information about your upcoming events and fundraisers, so we can feature them in the weekly WeMail!
New Student Orientation
Transfer students and parents for grades 10 – 12 are invited to come for a parent and student orientation and information session on Thursday, August 14th from 4-5pm in the Library. Presentation topics will include items such as our bell schedule, rules and expectations, and important points of contact.
Following the informational session, student ambassadors will be available to provide tours of the building for students and parents.
9th Grade Orientation
Rising 9th grade Student Orientation will take place on Thursday, August 14th from 5-6pm in the Auditorium. Ninth grade students and parents are invited to come and learn more about what high school is all about. Presentation topics will include items such as our bell schedule, rules and expectations, and important points of contact. You will also hear directly from Woodson student government officers on how to get involved.
Following the informational session, student ambassadors will be available to provide tours of the building for students.
6-7pm Parents will attend an additional informational session while students are touring.
Cav Kickoff
Friday, August 15th, 9-11am
Get excited, Cavaliers! The new school year is coming, and we invite the community to kick off the year with us on August 15th for our annual open house.
All students and families may come during this informal event to tour the building, meet and greet teachers, meet new friends in class, get school supply lists, and have opportunities to sign up for clubs, activities and the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO).
- Visit with student clubs and athletic teams
- Drop off medication at the clinic
- Learn about Woodson’s PTSO and become a member
- Purchase Athletic Booster passes
- Purchase Woodson spirit wear
- Get MySchoolBucks (for class fees and lunch money) and SIS ParentVUE assistance
