Summertime is Here
Summer is officially here at FHS, and the weather is definitely heating up! We hope everyone is excited for some well-deserved time off, relaxation, and plenty of summer fun. It is exciting to see our future lions on the fields for football and lacrosse camp this week, as our staff and students are leading with PAWSitivity.
As you begin to enjoy your break, we also want to start reminding our families about some important changes to next year's policies. Your awareness and cooperation will help ensure a smooth start to the new school year.
Morning Entry Procedures: Open Gate Screening
Next school year, all students will continue to enter through Open Gate screening every morning. This means that only Doors 1 and 21 will be open for student entry. To ensure a timely start to the school day, please plan your morning arrival routine to accommodate this change. After 8:10 AM, Door 21 will close, and all daily arrivals will need to enter through Door 1.
Student Parking Relocation
To further accommodate the FCPS and FHS safety plan, all student parking will be relocated to the front of the building.
Revised Cell Phone Usage Policy
FCPS is also implementing a significant change to our cell phone usage policy. Students will now only be able to access their phones during their designated lunch periods each day. This means that pulling out phones in the hallways or during class transitions will no longer be permissible. We encourage you to begin discussing this change with your students over the summer to help them prepare for this adjustment.
We have also planned many of our welcome back events and they are posted below. Although summer is here, we can't wait for the start of our 25-26 school year.
Sincerely,
