Washington Mill

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Washington Mill Families,

We’re officially in the final stretch of the school year! It was wonderful to see so many of you at our final PTA meeting last week. Your continued support and involvement have made a big difference for our students and staff throughout the year—thank you.

This week, we’ll be wrapping up our SOL retakes for students in grades 3–6. On Monday, June 2, families of students who took an SOL this spring will receive preliminary score updates directly from their child’s teacher via email. These initial results will give you a timely look at how your child performed ahead of official state reports.

Also beginning the week of June 2, academic screener reports for students in PreK–2 and grades K–3 will be posted in SIS ParentVUE under Documents. These reports include data from VKRP, VALLSS, and iReady. If your family does not have access to ParentVUE, a printed report will be sent home by Wednesday, June 11.

Please also note:

  • Online Registration (OLR) and Verification/Update Packets (OVU) for the current school year close for families on June 4. If you need assistance registering or updating information, now is the time to complete it.
  • The last day of school for students is Wednesday, June 11.  This day is a 2-hour early release.
  • Our annual Field Day is scheduled for Monday, June 9—more details will be shared soon.
  • Our 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 6:30 PM.

We’re proud of the growth our students have made and deeply grateful for the partnership we share with you. Let’s finish strong—together!

Warmly,

Brad Bennink

Principal
