Mr. Wolfe Recognized by FCPS School Board
Mr. Wolfe and our Edison Academy Electrical Engineering Program were recognized for earning the VDOE CTE Creating Excellence Award for program of the year for state Region 4 back in June. On February 6, the School Board celebrated and recognized this achievement in conjunction with Career and Technical Education, Disability Employment, and Adult & Community Education Appreciation Month.

Mrs. Hall Recognized in FCPS CARES
The FCPS CARES Program allows parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees who go above and beyond to help others and show they care about their students, colleagues, and the community. Below is an excerpt of the submission, for the full write up, click here.
"Ms. Hall is incredibly supportive to all students in both Cosmo 1 and Cosmo 2 classes. She always has time to help every student, has a fun joke, and share knowledge. Ms. Hall is hard working, caring and creates an environment where students feel a sense of belonging. Ms. Hall is an extremely hard worker. She has customized multi-page outlines for the chapters for her students, so they have the best opportunity to learn the material…Additionally, when you walk into the classroom, you can instantly feel the energy in the room and know that the students are in good hands."
Mr. King Earns CCNA Certification

Mr. King is great at showing students the various pathways to Cyber careers.
Highlights
Cyber Program is building an Arcade with the grant money they have received from Educate Fairfax, Edison PTA, and Foundation for Applied Technical Education, Inc. (FATE). A group of students went to George Mason University to see Corner Pocket, their game room and arcade, for inspiration and guidance.

Happy Lunar New Year! Welcome the Year of the Snake! As the most important holiday for Chinese and many other Asian communities, Lunar New Year is a time for joy, tradition, and new beginnings. This year, the celebration ran from Wednesday, January 29, to Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Our Chinese classes created lanterns and written lucky poems using traditional Chinese calligraphy brushes. We’ve also decorated the World Languages hallway with lanterns and Spring Couplets to bring festive cheer. Everyone is welcome to stop by and explore the rich traditions of Chinese New Year! Wishing you a joyful and prosperous Year of the Snake! Gōng xǐ fā cái! (Wishing you happiness and prosperity!)

The Criminal Justice program took their first of two visits to the FBI Headquarters for an incredibly informative tour.

About twenty of our ambassadors also attended a communication workshop with iContact Coaching at West Potomac alongside students from Falls Church, Marshall, and West Potomac Academies.

Academy Staff and Students hosted the annual Open House. What an amazing turn out from our community; we hope you enjoyed the programs as much as we enjoyed having you here.

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) month, check out the bulletin board created by our Teachers For Tomorrow Class to educate students on CTE courses at the academy.

Last week was National School Counseling Week, where students, faculty, and families showed appreciation for our Career Counselor, Ms. Deedy, and Career Experience Specialist, Ms. Hinkhouse.

We will continue to share important information and good news through these newsletters, our Edison Academy website, and social media platforms, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
