LHES Kindness Week
In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week, the PTA will support students in sharing kindness with their classmates, teachers, and other school professionals. Plans are underway for students to pre-purchase flowers to deliver to their classmates and teachers on Friday, Feb 14. Students will also have a chance to demonstrate kindness and share important messages of thoughtfulness during the week.
Girls on the Run Spring Season (grades 3-6)
Registration is now open for the Girls on the Run at Laurel Hill ES. By using a curriculum that creatively integrates physical activity with life lessons, Girls on the Run empowers girls to develop the confidence and character they need to become strong and healthy young adults. Registration for the spring 2025 program is open February 3 - February 23, and the season will run from the week of March 3 through May 18. The standard program fee is $210, but we also offer military and sibling discounts, as well as financial assistance available for all families. For more information, go to the Girls on the Run of NOVA website (www.gotrnova.org) or contact the Girls on the Run team’s head coach, Megan Oxendine at mloxendine@fcps.edu, or Dr. Traylor at tctraylor@fcps.edu. See the link here as well for registration and click here for information on financial assistance.
