From the Principal’s Pen

Dear Laurel Hill Families,

Happy New Year!! We hope you and your families were excited about the extended winter break and were just as excited to come back to school today! If you would like to share your snow day photos with us to share on the next edition of our newsletter, please send them to Dr. Traylor (tctraylor@fcps.edu). We think this might be a fun way to boost our "viewing ratings"!

Many of our families strategically moved into the Laurel Hill school boundaries specifically to attend our school. We are honored that you chose us to educate your children. Laurel Hill Elementary School is more than just a place of learning; it's a place where teachers, students, and families come together to help our young learners learn, grow, and thrive. As lions, we ROAR together! Check out our Top 10 website here.

Lastly, if you have yet to join our PTA, please consider supporting our school with your membership and engagement. Our next PTA meeting is virtual and will take place Tuesday, January 14 @7pm. You will need to access the meeting using this link.

Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Day (Holiday)/Inauguration Day-No School

Jan. 28: End of Quarter 2 (This is a regular school day, dismissal @4:05.)

Jan. 29: Lunar New Year (Teacher work day)-No school for students

February is Black History Month.

Feb. 3-7: National School Counseling Week

Feb 12: 100th Day of School (moved from the 6th because of snow days)

Feb 17: Presidents Day (Holiday)-No school
