FCPS Excellence Award Winners
Congrats to Holli Selman (College and Career Specialist) and Kristin Webster (MYP Coordinator). They received FCPS Excellence Awards at a ceremony on October 9, 2024. Holli received an individual award for Innovation and Improvement based on her work with the Rambassador program. Kristin received a team award for Collaboration and Partnerships for her work on the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Portrait of a Graduate (POG) working group.
Robinson Quiz Bowl Victory
On October 12, the Robinson Quizbowl team traveled to beautiful Blacksburg High School (check out that view!) for our first tournament of the year! We finished with a 9-1 record, with one loss by 5 points and two games, including the championship round, going into overtime! We were victorious and took first place 🏆 for the second consecutive year. This win also qualified us for the National Championship Tournament in May.
Robinson Pyramid Resource Fair
The Robinson Pyramid Family Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The event will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gold Cafeteria at Robinson Secondary. All families in our community are invited to attend to connect with local organizations that will provide information about support and resources in the areas of health, recreation, education, and school/family partnerships. Refreshments will be served, and childcare activities will be offered.

Volunteer Opportunities
Have you been thinking about volunteering? Looking to add new and enriching activities to your life? Want to create new connections? Attend the annual Venture into Volunteering Fair on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 12-4 p.m. at the Springfield Town Center. Meet representatives from various nonprofits and local government agencies to learn about ways to volunteer in the community. The fair will be held in conjunction with the Beacon 50+ Expo. Learn more
Military Families
Our Military Kids
Our Military Kids® is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering extracurricular activity grants to children and teens of deployed National Guard, deployed Reserve, or post-9/11 combat wounded, ill, or injured Veterans in treatment. OMK activity grants build the children's self-confidence, enhance family wellness, and strengthen a shared sense of community.
Military Child Care
Access to childcare directly affects mission readiness, morale, and retention of defense personnel worldwide. For this reason, the Department of Defense is committed to connecting military and DoD-affiliated families to quality, affordable childcare programs.
Military Family & Life Counselors
The Military and Family Life Counseling Program provides free, confidential non-medical counseling to service members, their families, and survivors on or near installations. Trained to work with the military community, military and family life counselors deliver valuable counseling services, briefings and presentations to the military community.

Dyslexia Open House
In recognition of Dyslexia Awareness Month, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is hosting its annual Dyslexia Open House on October 28th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 8270 Willow Oaks Corporate Drive, Fairfax, VA 22031. Varsity Tutors Provides On-Demand Support at No Cost
FCPS is partnering with Varsity Tutors to provide students and families with extra resources for learning. Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors’ services at no cost, including weekly live online classes, on-demand 24/7 chat tutoring, essay editing, and study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests. International Show Interest Meeting
Are you interested in performing in the 2025 International Show or being part of the backstage crew? The International Show allows Robinson students to share their cultural customs and traditions through song, dance, and instrumental performances. All high school students are welcome to attend the Interest Meeting on Thursday, October 17th. The meeting will take place in Recital Hall at 3:00 pm. The show will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, and is co-sponsored by ASA and LASA. For more information, contact Mrs. Gagnon, Ms. Harris, or Ms. Stark.
Fall Immunization Clinic at Robinson
Robinson will host a School Site Immunization Clinic on Friday, October 25th in collaboration with the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD). Only students enrolled at Robinson may participate in the clinic.
The following immunizations will be offered during school hours at the School Immunization Clinic:
- Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) Vaccine
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, & Pertussis (Tdap) Vaccine

If you would like your child to receive immunizations as part of the School Site Immunization Clinic, you must first provide:

Permission via a signed Adolescent Vaccine Clinic Consent Form, which can be found in the Middle and High School Clinics section on this webpage. Hard copies of the consent form are available in HS and MS Student Services.
- A copy of their immunization records (if available).
- A copy of the front and back of their insurance card (if applicable). Insurance is not required.
Please bring your signed consent form to our front office by Friday, October 11th in order for your child to participate. If your child is insured, please submit a copy of the front and back of your child’s insurance to our front office as well.

Afternoon Solutions
Afternoon Solutions is an opportunity for high school students to stay after on Mondays and get help from teachers on homework or assignments, studying for tests, time management, organization, and more. Students are asked to go to the cafeteria after school to attend.

Mindfulness Program for 9th/10th Graders
Would your student benefit from learning skills to reduce stress and anxiety? 9th and 10th grade students are invited to a six week Learn to Breathe group being offered after school on 10/23. 10/30, 11/6, 11/13. 11/20, and 12/4 from 3-4pm in the Calm Cafe in the Gold Cafeteria. Snacks will be provided and student's can take the late bus home! Please register here
