Greetings Saxons,

Another great week is in the books in Saxon Country. Here are this week’s highlights from Saxon Country!

Congratulations to the 19 Langley seniors who have qualified as Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.3 million juniors in approximately 21,000 high schools entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than one percent of US high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.

Way to go- Katie Chen, Ariaana Downing, Leon Huang, Emily Hur, Zelmay Jan, Danna Jia, Arnav Ketineni, Amy Key, Chinmayee Lanka, Jayden Lee, Ethan Liu, Bryce Myers, Lindsey Newberg, Brendan Oakes, Vishwa Rakasi, Anniyah Rizvi, Riley Seewer, John Wu and Raymond Zhang!

Langley High School’s Model United Nations Team (Langley MUN) was named the best high school model UN program in the country by All-American Model UN, which trains and mentors future leaders in global affairs across the United States.  The #1 ranking is the culmination of eight consecutive years of excellence, marked by the club’s repeated success in winning the Best Large Delegation award at the most competitive Model UN conferences during the 2023/2024 school year. We salute MUN members and their sponsor Jennifer Stocks!

As previously shared, I am excited to announce my promotion to Region 4 Executive Principal. While my official start date is September 23, 2024, I have agreed to continue in my current role at Langley until a new principal is in place.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the principal of Saxon Country and look forward to continuing for the foreseeable future.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
