Thank you for your continued dedication to our school community!
SEL Screener:
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) believes in supporting social and emotional learning (SEL) for all students. In FCPS, students use a tool called the SEL Screener to think about their own SEL skills and experiences at school. Liberty Middle School students in grades 7th and 8th grade will be participating in the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener in the Fall and Spring.
After each screening, results are available in the Documents tab of SIS ParentVUE and mailed to families without a ParentVUE account. For more information about the SEL Screener including information on opting out please see the attached Parent Notification. You can also learn more on the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener webpage.

New Attendance Reporting Feature Launching in ParentVUE for 2024-25 School Year
FCPS is excited to announce an important update beginning with the start of the 2024-25 school year. Parents and caregivers will have the option to submit their student’s attendance directly through ParentVUE starting the first day of school, August 19, 2024. This new feature aims to streamline the attendance reporting process and enhance communication between parents and schools. This change will make it more convenient for parents and schools to manage students' attendance while ensuring the highest level of security.
ParentVUE offers a more secure and reliable platform for managing students' attendance information. ParentVUE will replace the current Attendance Forms, which will be discontinued at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

Student Accident Insurance Program:
At the beginning of each school year, parents and/or guardians should be informed of the Student Accident Insurance Program, K&K Student Accident Insurance. Fairfax County Public Schools does not provide medical insurance for accidents that occur at school. Parents can purchase “at school” accident insurance or “24 hour” accident insurance (12 months a year). This is a low-cost insurance program for families to defray medical or dental expenses that results from an accident involving their child. More information can be found on the FCPS public site at Voluntary Student Insurance and on the FCPS Hub Student Accident Insurance Program.
Free and Reduced-Price Meals:
Learn more about the criteria and process to apply for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
If you have children eligible for the federal Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, they may also be eligible to participate in other Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) fee-based programs without paying a fee or by paying a reduced fee (e.g fees associated with elective classes).
To learn more and apply online click here : https://www.fcps.edu/frm
The free and reduced-price meals application also includes a section where you provide consent to share information allowing FCPS staff (School Principal, school counselors and other FCPS program staff) to share information about your children's meal eligibility status.
Information received by FCPS staff will only be used for the purposes described in the application.
