Dear Charger families,
We are so proud of how our students Lead the CHARGE in so many ways at Chantilly. This week our students have continued to demonstrate high levels of engagement during classes and homeroom as we have focused on the attributes of Accoutability and Respect. Whether it is following our expectations regarding cell phones, cheering on our teams at athletic events, or demonstrating academic integrity, I know I speak for the entire faculty when I share that the positive energy at Chantilly is felt by all and we are truly off to one of the best starts I can remember.

Our Charger community has so much to look forward to as we CHARGE ahead to Homecoming next week. Our theme this year is Red, Knight, and Blue and we cannot wait to celebrate together. We will kick off Monday with spirit days and hallway decorating. We wrap up the school week Friday with our annual Chantilly Homecoming Parade, Taste of Chantilly, and the Varsity Football game versus McLean HS Friday. Our Homecoming dance will take place in the gym from 7-10 PM on Saturday, September 14. Tickets will be on sale for $20 in the cafeteria all next week and will be $40 cash only at the door. We hope you will join in our Charger spirit and share your purple pride at our events next week!

Clinic Reminders - Attendance and Check Out Procedures
Early Checkouts
- Parents are required to furnish a written excuse to OR call the student’s sub school including date, time, reason for the early dismissal and phone number for verification.
- Please notify your student’s Subschool of an early dismissal by 9:30 AM. At the time of dismissal, if there is no electronic pass in the system, your student MUST check out with their Subschool.
Sick Students leaving school
- The student MUST check out of school through the clinic when leaving the grounds because of illness. (Please do not call your student’s Subschool to dismiss your student for illness).
- When a student is sent home or a doctor’s attention is required, the SUBSCHOOL OFFICE will be notified at the end of the day by the clinic. (Attendance will be updated accordingly)
Chantilly Cell Phone Policy
Our Chargers are doing a great job following expectations and adhering to the phone policy. Keeping cell phones off during the school day helps students focus and learn. It also boosts positive social behavior. Please review FCPS’ cell phone expectations by grade level and the consequences that will go into effect beginning September 3 (below), with your child and help keep our classrooms free of distractions! If you need to reach your child during the school day, please call our main office, 703-222-8100.
Attendance Matters
Parents and caregivers can submit full day absences through ParentVUE! This will replace the google attendance link used in the past. Please visit our website for more information on attendance procedures.
*Partial Absences: To report late arrivals, early dismissals, or to update already submitted attendance, please contact the appropriate sub-school directly. Contact information is listed below.
Early Dismissal Procedures:
Parent/Guardian Chantilly HS Digital Resource Consent
Please complete this important document annually so that your student may access approved online resources to support classrom activities.
No-Cost Virtual Therapy for High School Students
Parents/caregivers no longer need to opt in their child to receive Hazel Health’s teletherapy services. This will make the referral process easier for families. Virtual therapy sessions are available to FCPS high school students at no cost to provide them with a safe space to address concerns such as:
- Mood/behavior changes, motivation, grief/loss
- Anxiety, worry, fears
- Social skills, bullying, peer and family relationships
- Academic stress
You may refer your child by calling 571-749-2940 or by contacting our school counselor, social worker, psychologist, or director of Student Services.
Visit the FCPS Teletherapy webpage for more information.
