Leap into Liberty: New Student Orientation

We will be hosting our "Leap into Liberty: New Student Orientation" on Thursday, August 15th for ALL 7th grade students and any 8th grade students who are NEW to Liberty. The orientation is for students only and runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Upon arrival at Liberty, students will receive their schedules and meet some of our staff members (administrators, counselors, and teachers).  They will also have an opportunity to tour the building, learn middle school tips for success, hear about our after-school program, and more!  Transportation for the orientation will be provided by FCPS school buses from feeder elementary schools.

Bull Run Elementary- 8:30 am

Centreville Elementary- 8:40 am

Centre Ridge Elementary- 8:40 am

Colin Powell- 8:40 am

Union Mill Elementary- 8:45 am

You may also drop your student off in Kiss and Ride at Liberty and pick up there as well.

(Please do not drop off before 8:50 am.)

Liberty Live: Open House

The "Liberty Live: Open House" will be held on Thursday, August 15th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for ALL Liberty students (including returning 8th graders) and their families. Liberty Live is an open house format for you to come when you can. This is an excellent opportunity for new families to start the process of becoming acquainted with Liberty Middle School.

Kiss and Ride Procedures

Parents should enter and exit from the entrance closest to Compton Road.  Please follow the signs and directions of school staff. Students may exit their vehicles starting at 7:10AM.

Please remember SAFETY and PATIENCE when dropping off (7:10AM) or picking up your student in the Kiss and Ride loop. In the mornings, please do not pull to the inside and pass cars as students are getting out. If there is a slow or stalled vehicle, a staff member will direct you around when it is safe to do so. 30 seconds seems like forever when you are in a rush. If possible, your student may walk or ride the bus.

In the afternoons, drivers may line up in the kiss and ride circle. Students will be dismissed at 2:15 and report to the kiss and ride circle. Staff will direct cars out safely, as soon as the student is in the car. Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation!

New Attendance Reporting Feature Launching in ParentVUE for 2024-25 School Year

FCPS is excited to announce an important update beginning with the start of the 2024-25 school year. Parents and caregivers will have the option to submit their student’s attendance directly through ParentVUE starting the first day of school, August 19, 2024.  This new feature aims to streamline the attendance reporting process and enhance communication between parents and schools. This change will make it more convenient for parents and schools to manage students' attendance while ensuring the highest level of security.

ParentVUE offers a more secure and reliable platform for managing students' attendance information.  ParentVUE will replace the current Attendance Forms, which will be discontinued at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

ParentVUE access and assistance will be provided during Back-to-School events.

Annandale High School

4700 Medford Dr, Annandale, VA 22003

All multilingual learners and their families are invited to attend a summit on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Annandale High School. The summit will be primarily geared for secondary multilingual learners, but all are welcome to attend. This event will begin with a table fair showcasing many opportunities available within FCPS and the wider community that support paths to graduation and future careers for students.  Additionally, a keynote will be presented by Dr. Jose Luis Zelaya who will share a message about the power of community and resilience.  A student panel will dialogue with Dr. Zelaya following the keynote.

Refreshments and light food will be served. Language and childcare services will be available.  All secondary level multilingual learners have been invited centrally from FCPS via email.  Registration is open for students, families, or staff planning to attend.
