Our Voices, Our Future: Multilingual Learners Summit All multilingual learners and their families are invited to attend a summit on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Annandale High School. The summit will be primarily geared for secondary multilingual learners, but all are welcome to attend. The goal of the summit is to foster an environment of empowerment where multilingual students and their families can establish meaningful connections, engage in active listening, and openly share their experiences, cultivating mutual support and a deeper understanding of educational pathways within FCPS.
This event will begin with a table fair showcasing many opportunities available within FCPS and the wider community that support paths to graduation and future careers for students. Additionally, a keynote will be presented by Dr. Jose Luis Zelaya who will share a message about the power of community and resilience. A student panel will dialogue with Dr. Zelaya following the keynote.
Refreshments and light food will be served. Language and childcare services will be available. All secondary level multilingual learners have been invited centrally from FCPS via email. Registration is open for students, families, or staff planning to attend.
Dietary Accommodations Starting School Year 2024-2025, the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is implementing a standardized process for dietary accommodations to ensure the provision of safe and healthy food for our students. This form only needs to be filled out once while your student is enrolled at FCPS.
Please keep in mind the following information:
- FCPS does not provide meals containing pork.
- We offer vegetarian and vegan options for lunch at every school, every day. If your student needs pork-free or vegetarian meals (which do not contain meat, poultry, or fish but may contain dairy and/or eggs), you do not need to fill out a Dietary Accommodation form, as we have those options available at all schools. Please note that while FCPS is not a peanut-free kitchen, our peanut butter products are individually wrapped to prevent cross-contamination.
Family Ambassadors Wanted We are seeking Family Ambassadors. The Family Ambassadors will welcome new families in their chosen grade level and offer support as they familiarize themselves with WSES and their grade level. If you're interested on becoming a Family Ambassador, kindly fill out this form. An informational meeting will be held in early Fall.
Supply Lists Missed the deadline to order supply kids through the PTA? Our supply lists can be found on our website.

Summer Reading Challenge This year’s summer reading challenge has an Olympic theme. Ms. Stevenson has created a series of reading challenges based on Olympic Events and hopes that you will encourage your child to complete as many “events” as possible! Forms returned to school by August 31st will receive a small prize.
