The Gym is being renovated this summer and the project has encountered some delays.
If the gym is unavailable for try-outs, the county will provide buses to take all students to another gym where try-outs can take place.
Updates will be provided throughout this week.
Golf will begin on 8/1.

Practices will be Monday-Thursday.

Hello, Hayfield Secondary School Community!
My name is Hannah Hoffman, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Varsity Head Field Hockey Coach here at Hayfield Secondary School! I’m excited to get started and to meet all of you as we kick off the upcoming field hockey season. We will be holding field hockey tryouts for both the Varsity and JV programs from August 5th to August 7th, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM on the upper turf.
Important Details:
- Tryouts: August 5th - August 7th, 8:00-11:00 AM, Upper Turf
- Post-Tryout Practices: August 8th until the start of the school year, 8:00-11:00 AM, Upper Turf
- Regular Season Practices: Beginning with the start of the school year, practices will be held from 3:30-5:30 PM on the Upper Turf
No prior experience is required to try out for the team—we welcome players of all experience levels and are eager to work with everyone! However, if tryout turnout exceeds roster slot availability, cuts will be necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- Water!!!! (It will be HOT)
- Field hockey stick
- -Mouth guard
- -Shin guards
- -Turf shoes are suggested but not required
*Please note: R-School and Physicals MUST be completed in order to tryout. If not, you will be asked to go home and may return once this is completed*

HOMECOMING 2024
Start making your plans now. Homecoming 2024 will occur on 10/25/24. The Hawks will host Riverdale Baptist at 7pm that night. The Homecoming Parade will happen around 4pm followed by Octoberfest. The Homecoming dance will happen on 10/26/24.

The planning for the Class of 2025 All Night Grad Party (ANGP) is WELL underway! We have a great group of volunteers working hard this summer to help organize a year of FUNdraising events! If you'd like to be a part of the fun, email us at angp@hssptsa.org
At this time, ANGP tickets are NOT available as we are waiting for the graduation date from FCPS & HSS.
However, our ANGP store is OPEN! We have yard signs, stickers and the BEST blanket you will ever own! We only ordered 80 of these comfy blankets and when they are gone, they are GONE!
