Cub Run News

Cubby Corner

Dear Cub Run Families and Friends,

We hope this message finds each of you enjoying a wonderful summer. We are excitedly preparing for the start of the 2024-25 school year and will continue to send out updates as we get closer to the first day of school.

In June, Dr. Reid shared that Fairfax County Public Schools has developed a division wide plan for seven three-hour elementary early release Mondays starting in September for the 2024-25 school year. These early release days are being planned to support dedicated blocks of time for staff to participate in professional development, lesson planning, and to collaborate with colleagues.

Please mark your calendars for the early release days for Cub Run Elementary. We will release students at 12:25 p.m. on the following dates:

  • September 23, October 28, November 25, February 24, March 17, April 28 and May 19

For additional information, FCPS has created this webpage that provides further detail about the early release Mondays.

We look forward to hearing about the fun adventures our Cubbies are having this summer!

Warm regards,
Melissa Miller & Nausheen Haider

Reminders

School Supplies for 2024-25

Please visit our school website for a list of school supplies by grade level for the 2024 - 2025 school year.

In cooperation with the Cub Run PTA, Campus Survival Kits has assembled all the necessary supplies for next year, specific to your child's grade. Kits will be delivered in a custom Cub Run draw-string bag, labeled with your child's name, directly to your child's classroom in time for the Welcome Walk before the first day of school.  Visit www.campussurvivalkits.com/cubrun to purchase a supply kit by July 17.

Mark school supply shopping off your list and give your student's teachers a head start on organization for the year by purchasing your school supply kit from Campus Survival Kits. Each item in the kit has been carefully selected by the school and reflects the exact items teachers prefer. Ensure their first days back in the classroom are a breeze by ordering a kit so both personal and community supplies are delivered directly to the classroom ready for student use or bulk storage. What's more, each kit ordered results in free supplies and other perks for the school. Order today at www.campussurvivalkits.com/cubrun
