Student Placement at Lorton Station ES for the 2024-25 School Year
As we work toward building classes for next year, we consider input from both staff and parents. If you would like to share information about the way your child learns or qualities in a teacher that you feel would help your student succeed, please complete the form below by June 7, 2024. While we cannot honor requests for specific teachers, we do consider parents’ input about learning styles. When completing the form, please follow these guidelines:
- Share the qualities of a teacher and classroom environment that would best meet your child’s needs.
- Let us know if you feel that your child should be separated from another student. We will take that request into consideration. Please remember that best friends do not necessarily belong in the same instructional group.
- PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A TEACHER BY NAME OR GENDER.
Please note: Because of enrollment changes over the summer, class assignments will not be finalized until mid-August.

Fairfax County is hosting its 1st Puzzle Hunt!
When: Launches June 15, 2024
The Solving Fun Puzzle Pals have been hard at work, creating an exhilarating adventure for puzzle solvers. We are thrilled to announce the Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt, a unique community event that will take you on a journey to the wonderful parks in Fairfax County. Starting this summer, solve one puzzle or do them all. Puzzles are filled with creative thinking, logic, and wordplay. They are designed to be challenging and accessible for all skill levels. Solve the puzzles and then find clues at the parks for a final meta-puzzle. Walk, bike, and roll at our wonderful local parks with friends and family.  Enjoy Fun and Resources at the Summer Extravaganza
Stop by Woodson High School on Saturday, June 1, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., for the FCPS Summer Extravaganza. Enjoy face painting, food, music, a moonbounce, alpaca petting, storytime, and student performances — all at no cost! Additional food trucks will be on site selling a variety of treats.
Families are invited to take part in engaging educational activities designed to spark curiosity and growth. Community organizations will be providing tips, resources, and helpful information. Visit the Summer Extravaganza webpage for details and register to attend. Registration is not required, but it’s helpful for planning purposes.

Venga a la Escuela Secundaria de Woodson el sábado, 1 de junio, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., para el FCPS Summer Extravaganza. Disfrute de pintura de cara, comida, música, un brincolín, acariciar alpacas, cuentos, y presentaciones de estudiantes - ¡todo gratis! Camiones de comida adicionales estarán en el sitio para vender una variedad de delicias. Las familias están invitadas a participar en atractivas actividades educativas diseñadas para despertar la curiosidad y el crecimiento.
