Health Room- Medications

  • All medications must be picked up no later than 2 pm on June 12, 2024.

• Parents must pick up student medications from the health room. No medications will be sent home with students.

• Medications may also be picked up prior to June 10th, during normal health room hours: Monday-Friday 9:15AM-4:00PM.

• Medication left in the health room after 2 pm on June 12th cannot be saved and must be discarded according to FCPS and FCHD policy.

• REMINDER: New medication forms are required for each new school year. Forms can be located at https://www.fcps.edu/resources/student-safety-and-wellness/school-health-services and then scroll to the bottom.

• If your child will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, your existing long-term medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s). You will still need to pick up the medication and bring it with the medication authorization form to the summer school program your child is attending.

• If you have any questions, please contact the front office at 703-633-6400.

GBE Family Input for 2024-2025

Planning has begun for the 2024-2025 school year! Since we work in partnership with our families to provide a supportive school environment for our students, we would like to invite you to share some information about your child.  This form is not intended for families to request specific teachers.  Rather we are looking for more input to assist us with making the best teacher and student match.

Class assignments are made by a team. Your child’s current teacher, specialists, upcoming grade-level staff, and administrators collaborate to develop class lists for next school year. This form will be reviewed and considered when we begin this process. Greenbriar East embraces collective responsibility and all of our staff are equipped to meet individual student needs.

Please complete the information below (one form per child) and submit the form by Friday, May 31st.

Fairfax County is hosting its 1st Puzzle Hunt!

When: Launches June 15, 2024

The Solving Fun Puzzle Pals have been hard at work, creating an exhilarating adventure for puzzle solvers. We are thrilled to announce the Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt, a unique community event that will take you on a journey to the wonderful parks in Fairfax County. Starting this summer, solve one puzzle or do them all. Puzzles are filled with creative thinking, logic, and wordplay. They are designed to be challenging and accessible for all skill levels. Solve the puzzles and then find clues at the parks for a final meta-puzzle. Walk, bike, and roll at our wonderful local parks with friends and family. For more information go to  www.solvingfun.com/fairfax.

FriYay AttenDANCE 🕺💃

Today's Attendance rate is 86.6%.

As of today, students enrolled at the beginning of the school year that have missed 16 or fewer days of school are helping us reach our goal of 85% (percentage of students not chronically absent). Thank you for making regular school attendance a priority! We love dancing our way out of the building on Fridays at dismissal when our overall chronic absenteeism rate is below 15%!

Pickup Patrol

Use PickUp Patrol to report absences

In emergencies, email or call the front office

This is a reminder to put your students' absence, arriving late, or leaving school early in Pickup Patrol (PUP). All default plans should be up to date. Make sure you change the default plan anytime you change your students' permanent dismissal. Emails and phone calls are no longer encouraged, except for emergencies. When you enter a change in PUP, it goes directly to your child’s teacher as well as our front office staff. Please remember to provide a reason for the absence, late arrival or early dismissal. Changes must be entered on PUP by 2:30pm each day. If you need assistance setting up your PickUp Patrol account, please reach out to Adriana Barreto at 703-633-6400 or aabarreto@fcps.edu.
