LONG WEEKEND AHEAD

Collage 5/21

Dear Fairhill Families

Today marks the final day of our whole group SOL testing! It is hard to believe that we have wrapped up grades 3-6 end-of-year state testing. The official results will be coming in a few weeks, but in the meantime, please feel free to familiarize yourself with the Fairhill State Report Card. That information can be found here: https://schoolquality.virginia.gov/schools/fairhill-elementary. Fairhill has much to be proud of in terms of our academic achievement.

Of course, we are focused on results, but we also know as educators that no significant learning happens without a significant relationship with our students. Please be sure to check out the calendar below to see all of the special traditions we have coming up between now and the end of the year. These events make Fairhill special and continue to add to our rich and diverse school culture.

Enjoy the long weekend,

Ted & Maura

Story Book Parade

Mark your calendars June 5th will be Fairhill’s Second Annual Story Book Parade.  What is a Story Parade you ask?  It is a fun community event, including our entire school and our tiger families.  Each class will work together to make one of their favorite books come to life!

Library books

A Note from the Library

Per FCPS regulations, all library book circulation stops two weeks before the end of school. This means that all books are due back to the library by Wednesday, May 29th. Please begin helping your student(s) by reminding them to find and return any books that are currently overdue. Thank you for your assistance in this matter!

🩹 Required Immunizations for Rising 7th and 12th Graders

Immunizations are required for all students entering 7th and 12th grades this fall. Visit FCPS’ immunization webpage to learn about the required vaccines.

Caregivers should ask their private healthcare provider or the  health department to review their student's immunization record to ensure that their student has received these required immunizations.

It is important to schedule immunizations early in the summer, as seventh grade students must submit documentation of the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines before they begin school in August. Twelfth grade students must submit documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine.

Get more information on all student immunization requirements.
