Open PTO Meeting 5/17 at 10am

Calling all families! Join us for an Open PTO Meeting in-person on Friday, May 17 at 10AM in the Crossfield Cafeteria. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the PTO, hear about upcoming events, and see how you can get involved in supporting our school community. The Crossfield Green Team

The Crossfield Green Team is on a mission to enhance our environment and spread positivity throughout the community! We've been hard at work revitalizing the Kiss and Ride Garden, soon to be known as the Be Garden!

Our students are painting inspirational messages on rocks to place in the garden and are decorating a barrier to protect the space from mowing while promoting kindness. But we need your help to make our garden truly special!

To encourage pollinators like butterflies and bees, we've carefully selected several Virginia Native plants for our garden bed. If you'd like to contribute to this worthy cause, please email lacleary@fcps.edu and we'll send you a list of the plants we need.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in creating a beautiful and pollinator-friendly space for our community!

Warm regards,

Linda Cleary Crossfield Green Team

SOL Testing

To prepare for testing, please, encourage students to get a full night’s sleep, have something nutritious for breakfast, and send them to school on time with a positive mindset. If your child requires morning medication, remind your child to take the med and consider sharing the brain/focus benefit to them. Encourage your child to attend to/read instructions for each question, particularly if they should mark more than one answer. Consider sending them off with a positive message, such as: “Do the best you can.”, “Your first choice is usually correct. Don't change an answer unless you have a good reason to do so.”, “Relax, breathe, and read directions carefully.”, “If you are not sure, choose the answer you believe is best and move on.”, “You’ve got this!”. There are many, many more samples available; search “test taking tips for elementary students”.
