Boosters Organization UPDATES -
Executive Board Leadership (4 officers) for 2024-25:

Tuesday, May 7, 6:30pm meeting (link on Justice Boosters webpage, and Student Activities Link Tree) -- We will announce the slate of nominees to fill the Executive Board positions for 2024-25 (we will vote on the slate at our meeting in June). We will also discuss other organization business, map out the end of the year, and suggest strategies for helping next year start strong.
- We have experienced volunteers ready to continue serving as Treasurer and Secretary next year. This means that our financial house and our technology management (Google workspace; electronic purchasing system/card terminals for concessions) will be in very good hands.

We need nominees for President and Vice President. Please note: Our Bylaws allow for an Executive Board position to be fulfilled by up to two members (two Board members splitting a position would share the one vote for that position).
What do the President and Vice President positions entail?
- The intention of both positions is to oversee and support the administration and initiatives of the organization, NOT DO IT ALL.
- Concessions is a major part of how we raise funds for the athletic program, but concessions will NOT take over your life. Some officers have spent a lot of time working at concessions in the past because they had the time and inclination to do so, but it is not a requirement. The key is working with all the volunteers as a team that gets concessions done without anyone being overburdened. We also have some wonderful, hard-working students who make great concessions volunteers (special thanks this year to Coach Monica White's athletic leadership class, and various athletic teams as well).
- The President and Vice-President can support other parents willing to take on leadership of specific or time-limited tasks. For example, we have an experienced volunteer committed to overseeing concessions for next year's Winter Season.
Please contact me to EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST in the President or Vice President position, or SUGGEST SOMEONE whom you think would be great. This organization makes a huge, positive impact on our Justice community, and specifically on the entire athletic program. Without a full slate of leaders, the organization cannot function. Let's keep it going strong!

Registration is now open for Sports Physicals at Justice High School on June 4. Registration is $50 when you make an appointment in advance. All proceeds benefit the athletic training program.

GIFT CARDS FOR TEACHER APPRECIATION
The teacher's filled out a survey of how they'd prefer to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-10). After consulting with Principal Narcisse, the PTSA will repeat the popular gift card raffle we held during the holiday luncheon. However, this time our goal is to have one gift card for each teacher (there are 180+ teachers, 260+ total staff).
Gift cards can be dropped-off (or be delivered) to the front office until May 7.
Please label the delivery for for the PTSA. They can be of any amount and be Visa/Mastercard, from stores, or from restaurants. All we ask is that they NOT be digital gift cards (we learned from last time that we do not have the bandwidth to manage their redistribution).
Due to tax and accounting regulations for non-profits, it is much easier for us to have gift cards donated rather than to purchase them. But we won't turn down a donation to the teacher appreciation fund, if you can't send in gift cards: jhsptsa.org/teachers.

Please note that for the last year and a half, Fairfax County Public Schools paid for a countywide subscription for all schools and their communities. Unfortunately, FCPS will no longer be paying these fee. All of our events that take place on our stadium field and in our gymnasium will continue to be streamed live on the NFHS Network, but will now have a pay wall that the consumer will need to pay for.
