This was a fantastic week of celebrations and joy at Lorton Station, everything from our Multicultural Night to the kinder poetry slam, to the 2nd grade book publishing party. I don't think I can convey the amount of joy that was experienced at Lorton Station this week.

 Orthodox Good Friday/Teacher Work Day
Friday, May 3, is Orthodox Good Friday, and a teacher work day. Millions of Orthodox Christians commemorate Good Friday, also known as “Great Friday” to remember the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion. There will be no school for students that day. See the complete school year calendar.
 Every year our staff contribute in ways that are both seen and unseen daily to the emotional and academic growth of students in their care. We are quickly approaching Teacher Appreciation Week and I encourage all parents to click the link above and share something special about their favorite staff members.

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us plan, so that we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

Asistir al kindergarten les ofrece a los niños la oportunidad de aprender y practicar las habilidades sociales, emocionales, de resolución de problemas y de autorregulación que usarán durante toda su vida. Los niños que cumplen con los requisitos también pueden inscribirse durante el verano, pero inscribir a su hijo con anticipación nos ayuda a planificar, de modo que tengamos los maestros y los recursos necesarios el primer día de clases.
