From the Principal’s Pen

Dear Laurel Hill Families,

We were happy to host a breakfast for our military connected families yesterday morning to celebrate April as Month of the Military Child.  We are making strides to become a Purple Star school for next year.  If you are interested in helping us to achieve this prestigious designation please contact our parent liaison, Teresa Smith.  Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for making the morning special for students and their families.

We have exciting information to share!  Our wonderful PE teachers, Mrs. Braden and Mr. DeSatnick, entered LHES in a national contest to get the Harlem Globetrotters to visit our school and Laurel Hill is a top 10 finalist!  Please check out the submitted video here: Laurel Hill Elementary School - '23-24 Court of Creativity Top 10 Finalist (youtube.com).We will hear soon if we won!

Lastly, we are happy to have a spring book fair next week.  Students will be previewing books during the school day on Monday and Tuesday and can begin purchasing on Tuesday.  Bookfair family night is on Tuesday, April 23 from 5-8 pm.  Please consider volunteering to help this event for our school.  The link to sign up is below.  We will also be celebrating Earth Day and Autism Acceptance next week.  April is a busy month!

Sincerely,

Janice Dalton, Principal

Addison Smith, Assistant Principal

Thmeaka Traylor, Assistant Principal
