Principal Message

Dear Roadrunner Families,

This was such a great week at Lorton Station!! The entire school was able to view the eclipse, thanks to Mr. Barton and the Science Foundation, who provided the school with glasses. It was amazing to see the event through the eyes of children from 5 to 12. Many were not alive for the last one and will only experience the next one in 20 years. I hope they shared the experience with you on Monday.

If you did not get a chance to join us at Mt. Vernon HS on Friday, you missed a thrilling game between your Roadrunner staff and the Dolphins. Our very own Ms. Bingman was the MVP, reigning three after three on the Ft. Belvoir team, to help our Roadrunners win the game. We were so excited to be a participant this year and look forward to meeting up with the Dolphins next year. I also want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Davis, our kindergarten teacher, who organized and was the biggest cheerleader for the event; without her hard work, this event wouldn't have been as successful.

Warm Regards,

Dr. Legagneur, Ms. Champion, Ms. Kayes, Mr. Barton

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!

Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Our school typically conducts kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring during March or April. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us plan, so that we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

Prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms. We are happy to support families with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For more information in other languages, visit FCPS’ Kindergarten Registration webpage.
