CONNECTING THROUGH BASKETBALL

collage

Hello Fairhill Families!

What a great time we had at the basketball game on Friday! Congrats to Team Lightening on their tremendous win!

Connections to our communities is one of our three core values and Friday was a great example of that. The PTA sold over 500 tickets! Thank you all for coming out and supporting our school, students, and staff.

Looking ahead to more connections, please save the date for our next Parent Coffee on Thursday, April 4th at 9:30AM. During this meeting, we will officially introduce Maura Cotter, our new AP, to the community and then our mental health team will talk to us about the work they do with supporting students each day. We will discuss lunch bunches, small counseling groups, and individual counseling.

Have a WONDERFUL spring break and we look forward to a productive quarter four together. Remember the yearbook order deadline will be this Friday, March 22.  There will be no extra yearbooks for purchase after the deadline.

All our best,

Ted & Denise

Thank you to Denise Cash-Pinckney!

Friday, March 22 will be Ms. Cash-Pinckney’s last day at Fairhill. A huge thank you to Ms. Cash-Pinckney for your work as Interim Assistant Principal at Fairhill over the past four weeks. Your impact on our students, faculty and community has been remarkable in just four short weeks. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. Once a tiger, always a tiger.

We will be hosting a Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 9:30 to 10:30 am!

Parents will learn all about the wonderful world of Kindergarten at Fairhill in the Library while your child explores the school, kindergarten classrooms, and go on a quick bus ride.

There will be an FCPS bus to familiarize upcoming students with a school bus!  They will take a "field trip" around our bus loop!

Come and bring your rising Kindergartener.  We look forward to welcoming your family to Fairhill!

Kindergarten registration packets are available in the Fairhill Front Office.  Online registration will be available in April, but why wait?  Feel free to drop by and pick one up.  Please contact Alissa Salamone acsalamone@fcps.edu with any questions.

Measles Is Preventable

Measles is making headlines as the number of cases nationwide has topped 40, with three confirmed cases in people living in or traveling through the National Capital Region.

The good news is that measles is preventable through vaccination! Vaccines help teach the immune system how to defend against germs, helping to build up natural defenses. Give your child the best protection against measles with two doses of the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine. Visit the Fairfax County Health Department’s website to find out more about measles.
