Neurodiversity Celebration Week!
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is March 18th to 22nd! FCPS created this poster to support FCPS’ equity efforts and foster awareness and appreciation for the diverse spectrum of human uniqueness in all spaces during and extending beyond the week of celebration. We celebrate our Glen Forest Eagles for who they are and how they learn!

Friendly Reminder - Check in at Front Office
If you are visiting Glen Forest, please check in at the front office with your photo ID before going anywhere in the building. This is critical in order to keep our building safe, our staff safe, and your children safe. Thank you for your cooperation.

Attendance Updates
Currently, we have a chronic absenteeism rate of 19%. This mean that these students have missed 10% of school so far. If your child has missed 11 or more days of school so far, they are considered chronically absent, which significantly disrupts their learning.
Did you know that missing just 2 days of school each month causes a student to miss 30 hours of math instruction and 60 hours of reading and writing instruction. Attendance is critical to student success. Remember...its' cool to be in school!
If your child is not feeling well, please refer to the When Should I Keep My Child Home? webpage for guidance.

23-24 SIIP (School Improvement & Innovation Plan)
Our SIIP is now posted on our school website at this link. We have 3 goals (1 reading, 1 math, and absenteeism) which are directly aligned to the new FCPS Strategic Plan. Visit this site to learn more about the Strategic Plan.
A team of staff members started to analyze data this past July, and these findings are what helped drive our SIIP plan. Region 2 leaders also provided input and feedback. The plan will be monitored every quarter.
