From the Principal’s Pen

Dear Laurel Hill Families,

Last Friday, we kicked off One School One Book (OSOB), a PTA sponsored event, with an assembly where our reading specialist revealed the book our school will be reading for the next three weeks. It is our hope that our students and families will get even more excited about reading and the experiences the library can create. Ask your student about the book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library, and save the date for the culminating event, Literacy Night, March 21 at 6pm-8pm.

Throughout the year, as we celebrate and recognize various cultural holidays and observances, families are encouraged to contact us regarding accommodations, including but not limited to those around lunch, prayer/meditation and silent reflection spaces and times, and instruction.

In closing, attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Our school will conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, April 2 from 3pm-5pm. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us plan, so that we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

Remember daylight savings is this weekend. Have an amazing week!

Sincerely,

Janice Dalton, Principal

Addison Smith, Assistant Principal

Thmeaka Traylor, Assistant Principal
