ICYMI: PTA Meeting

General Assembly PTA Meeting

(ICYMI= In Case you Missed it)

At last week’s PTA meeting, our members approved a $20,000 increase in our budget for Long Term Outdoor Improvements in advance of the playground construction project finally beginning after more than 2 years of planning.

Thank you to all of you who donate to Friends of Wolftrap, coordinate our fundraising events like Bingo, Faculty Volleyball, and the Annual Fun Run and 5K. Your contributions and efforts made this possible!

Playground Update

The new playground is coming and we are so excited!!! PTA leadership was able to take part in a construction meeting last week with Dr. Grove and staff members to discuss the upcoming playground renovations and how the PTA will continue supporting this effort.

While the blacktop and playground are not available for recess during construction, your support has enabled us to offer extra recess equipment, like soccer balls and hula hoops.

We will also be funding at least one sun shade. More information about timing and other logistical considerations is here in Dr. Grove’s update in yesterday’s Paw Prints.

Yearbooks for Sale!

Wolftrap's official 2023-2024 Yearbook is now on sale through April 10!

Order via MySchoolBucks in the School Store section; it is the last option on the list.

Wolftrap 5K Updates

If you are new to Wolftrap, the Wolftrap 5k & Fun Run is one of our biggest events and fundraisers for our school. All proceeds support the PTA in providing amazing programs and support to our school.

Early Bird Registration Is Open!

Early registration for 19th annual Wolftrap 5k on Sunday, April 21st is now open for you to register your family and save money. Register here. Early registration will go until March 24th and registration cost will increase

5k Slime Meter: To encourage registration (so far we only have 38), five of our Wolftrap staff have volunteered to be slimed! A slime meter will be put up at school for our students to monitor progress. Once a registration level is hit, that faculty member will be slimed at our 5k event. Students can enter the raffle to win that opportunity! If we hit 500 registrants, we will slime Dr. Grove!

Promote your business at the Wolftrap 5k

Do you have a business you would like to promote to the community? Our Wolftrap 5k is a great way to do it! We have multiple sponsorship levels that support your needs and interests. A typical race has over 600 registrants. If you are interested in discussing opportunities with us please reach out to Christine Harney at wolftrap5k@gmail.com.

5k Basket Raffle Donation: Help us make our Raffle Fun!

At the 5k we hold a basket raffle where families and students can use their raffle tickets to win a themed basket. We are seeking donations to fill the baskets to be raffled off. For convenience, each grade level has been assigned a theme and a corresponding Amazon Wish List for each has been created. Purchases from the list starting will be sent directly to the 5k & Fun Run Event Committee Lead! Have other items you want to donate? See our website for more information. All donations need to be delivered to the 5k team no later than Tuesday, April 16th.

Reminder: Give a Volunteer "Shout Out"!

To ensure our volunteers receive all the appreciation and recognition they are due, we need your help!! If you've loved an event or a program and would love to shout out one of our volunteers, please use this form to tell us all about them. We'll use these shoutouts to show appreciation to our volunteers in the Connection and in other PTA communications.
