Principal Message

Dear Terraset Families:

The recent spring-like weather has reminded us that in less than a month it will officially be spring! It is a great time to pause and celebrate all of the incredible progress and achievements our Tigers have made so far this year. We have consistently observed our students engaging in meaningful and joyful learning, acquiring new skills, collaborating with one another and demonstrating kindness in many ways. This would not be possible without our talented professionals at school AND your dedication to our partnership- thank you!

If you would like to recognize a Terraset staff member for going above and beyond, please be sure to shout them out with an FCPS Cares submission here.

With much appreciation always,

Katie Aldridge

Principal

📅Important Calendar Reminder: Tuesday, March 5 - No School

The Fairfax Board of Elections has requested that schools be closed on Tuesday, March 5 to accomodate the administration of the 2024 presidential primary election.  As a result, March 5 is a school holiday for students and a virtual school planning day for teachers.  Central offices and school offices will remain open.  SACC will remain open.

Kiss and Ride Reminders

We are working hard to streamline our kiss and ride process so that the line, especially in the morning, moves as quickly and safely as possible.

  • Please do not park on Ridge Heights Road and walk across the driveway where buses and kiss and ride cars are exiting.  This slows down all traffic considerably.
  • Please pull all the way forward to the Door 2 area at the top of the hill to drop off your student(s).
  • All students will enter the building through Door 2 near the gym, unless there is inclement weather in which we will open lower Door 1 as well.
  • Please ensure your child is ready to exit the vehicle prior to drop off.

We appreciate your partnership in ensuring a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal for all of our Tigers.

Family Engagement Survey to Open March 3

FCPS is partnering with independent research firm K12 Insight to administer a Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Sunday, March 3, to Friday, March 22. Your feedback is critical in helping FCPS to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs throughout the district. Survey topics include:

  • Welcoming environment
  • Communication
  • Student success
  • Advocacy
  • Family and school partnerships
  • Community partnerships

The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Parents/caregivers will receive the survey link via email from K12 Insight. A public link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available in our front office. Please stay tuned for more information.
