February 11, 2024

Hello Justice HS Students, Families, and Community Members:

As we stride through the month of February, we are thrilled to acknowledge the rich tapestry of events that make this month special for our diverse community. Happy Black History Month! Let us take this time to celebrate and honor the contributions of Black leaders, trailblazers, and culture throughout history. It's an opportunity for all of us to learn, appreciate, and grow together.

Additionally, we extend warm wishes to those celebrating the Lunar New Year, marking the start of a new lunar cycle. May the Year of the Dragon bring prosperity, joy, and good fortune to our families and friends celebrating this auspicious occasion.

This week also marks the beginning of Lent, a period of reflection and preparation for the Easter season. As we enter this season, we encourage our community to embrace moments of introspection, personal growth, and compassion.

And of course, today is Super Bowl Sunday! Whether you're cheering for your favorite team, enjoying the commercials, or just savoring the snacks, we hope you have a fantastic time with friends and family.

Looking ahead, we're excited to continue the learning and growing momentum as we enter the third week of the third quarter. To further enrich our community, mark your calendars for our Justice Job Fair and Hiring Event on Thursday, February 22nd. This event is open to all interested candidates seeking to join our remarkable team. Feel free to spread the word and share the information below with those who may be interested.

Career Exploration Events for Students

In February, school divisions across the region will team up with Virginia Ed Strategies to host the annual Instruction 2 Industry Career Expo event. This Northern Virginia regional event invites high school students to connect virtually and in person, with more than 60 local industry professionals from in-demand career fields.

These free career exploration events aim to provide students with opportunities to prepare for tomorrow’s workforce today.

The in-person Career Expo and Job Fair will be held Saturday, February 17th, 1-4 PM, in the North Hall of the Dulles Expo Center

Students should register today on the Instruction 2 Industry Events page.

WP Theatre Presents: Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray

Justice High School theatre students have come together to create a memorable night of theatre.  Students from all theatre classes are represented in this production in the roles of actors, designers, managers, technicians, and directors.

Last spring, students in the program wanted to produce a show that would be outstanding and give advanced opportunities to The WP Theatre students.  We chose Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray that has been skillfully adapted by Neil Bartlett to appeal to modern audiences. We hope you will join us for this intriguing story of persuasion, illusion, abandon, and the difficult balance between unrestrained-power and sanity.

Performances are at Justice High School in the Black Box Theatre (B-28):

  • Thursday, February 15th – 7:00 PM
  • Friday, February 16th – 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, February 17th – 7:00 PM

Seats can be reserved at:
