PS I love you day

P.S. I Love You Day is held every second Friday of February, making Friday, February 9, 2024 it’s 14th annual celebration.  This year's theme is Love is Meant to be Given. It is to encourage all to spread love to the world, others and most importantly, yourself. On this day everyone is asked to wear purple to stand up against bullying, help end depression, and ultimately prevent suicide. We hope that on this day you walk around your community, school, or work office and see a sea of purple. We hope that you hear nothing but positive messages that make you feel special, loved, and remind you that you are never alone. For more information visit: https://psiloveyouday.net/

2024 Fairfax County Teen Job Fairs (HS)

Board of Supervisor Pat Herrity is teaming up with Fairfax County Times Newspapers, Fairfax County Public Schools, as well as local chambers and organizations to bring our community two Fairfax County Teen Job Fairs and Career-Building Workshops. The fairs will run on two Saturdays in March. These events focus on students and young job seekers looking for a variety of employment opportunities; full time, after-school, seasonal positions, internship opportunities, and volunteer positions.

Past fairs have provided thousands of teenagers the opportunity to get in front of employers and for our employers to find talented Fairfax County students to fill their positions. Last year, we had over 1,500 students and roughly 100 businesses participate.

The fairs are open to all teens in Fairfax County looking for employment, volunteer opportunities, or tips on building their resume. For more information and to view the full schedule, please visit the event webpage.

FCPS Summer Camps and Learning Programs

FCPS Summer Camps

Registration is now open for several summer camps and learning opportunities offered by Fairfax County Public Schools for all students.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) camps and Institute for the Arts (IFTA) camps will be held in July at Lake Braddock Secondary School from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bus transportation will be available from select FCPS middle and high schools.

  • CTE programs are available for students grades 6-11 to explore CTE program areas, develop skills, and begin career exploration.
  • IFTA and E-IFTA are weekly arts camps for students in grades 2-11. E-IFTA is for elementary students who love to sing, dance, act, perform, make, and create. IFTA allows older students to select from nearly 90 classes in art, dance, health and physical education, music, and theater. Visit the IFTA webpage or E-IFTA webpage to register.

FCPS Summer Learning

Programs are also available for high school students to fulfill the Economics and Personal Finance course required for graduation, earn a high school course credit through the Online Campus Program, or recover one high school course credit in the Credit Recovery Academy

A free online class for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) provides FCPS middle and high school English Learners the opportunity to continue developing their academic, reading, and writing skills in online discussions with an ESOL teacher.
