Greetings Majors and Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I can hardly believe we are in the second semester of school.  Our students and staff have worked so hard and we have many celebrations.  Next week, families will receive report cards.  I encourage you to take a moment to discuss your child's progress with them. Reflect on their achievements, celebrate their successes, and identify areas for growth. If you have questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers. Open communication between home and school is crucial for the continued success of our students, and your insights are invaluable.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to providing a nurturing and challenging environment for all of our Majors. Your feedback is essential in helping us continually improve.  With that, I hope you all plan to join me for the next virtual Principal Chat – Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm using this link.  If there are topics of questions you would like addressed, please submit them here.  The topic for this month’s chat is on the social emotional well-being of students.  We will review results from our Social Emotional Learning Screener and share our plans to address the needs.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Together, we can ensure that every Major achieves and thrives TOGETHER with purpose and pride! I wish you all a restful and productive weekend.

With Major Pride and Love,

Principal Rogers

Renaming of the JROTC Wing

We are delighted to announce the renaming of our Marine Corp JROTC wing in honor of two former Majors - Colonel Walter Dehoust and 1st Sergeant Willie Medley, who started the JROTC program at MVHS and whose contributions have left a lasting mark on our entire school community. This renaming is more than a change of signage; it is a testament to the impact they had on the betterment of our school and the students they served.
