Cold Weather Reminder
We hope this email finds you and your family well. Despite the warmer temperatures for the next few days, it seems like we might have some winter-like weather again in February.
We wanted to remind you that the school opens for students at 7:40am. Considering the colder temperatures, we kindly request that students who walk or are dropped off consider arriving closer to this time to avoid standing outside for extended periods. Safety is important, and we want to ensure that students are not exposed to the colder temperatures for longer than necessary.

MVHS Theatre Arts Presents
MVHS Theatre Arts presents the world premiere Tales of Anansi, a fun family-friendly celebration of Black History Month! Performances will be February 2 at 7pm and February 3 at 11 am and 3pm. Ticket prices are $5 for children 5 and under; $7 for students; $8 for Military/Senior Citizens; and $10 General Admission. For tickets and more information, visit www.mvhstheatrearts.com.

Student Services Updates
Mount Vernon High School will host their annual underclassman college night information session. This is a great session to get a jump start on planning for life after high school. The session is open to all 9th, 10th and 11th grade families. There will be a $1,000 scholarship awarded - students must be present in order to receive the award.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month
In February 2024 during Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, school divisions across the region are teaming up again with Virginia Ed Strategies to host the annual Instruction 2 Industry Career Expo event. This Northern Virginia regional event will provide high school students with opportunities to connect virtually and in-person with more than 100 local industry professionals from in-demand career fields. The purpose of this FREE career exploration event is to provide students with an opportunity to prepare for tomorrow’s workforce today.
