New Year

Dear Mason Crest Families,

As we welcome the new year, the entire Mason Crest team is excited to see students back into their routines and schedules ready to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. We look forward to continuing to partner with you to provide your students with a successful school year.

Thank you for all you do to support your child and our Mason Crest community of learners. We are so proud of the work we see!

attendance

We often notice more empty seats in our classrooms during the winter months. This year, let's work together to nurture a rock-solid attendance habit. Every hour of every school day is a unique opportunity for students to learn, connect, and grow. Please ensure that your child comes to school every day unless an absence is necessary.

If you or your child need support, please reach out to our school social worker or family liaison. If your child is not feeling well, please refer to the When Should I Keep My Child Home? webpage for guidance.

Opioid Awareness and Community Conversation

Please join Dr. Reid on Wednesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m., at Edison High School for a community conversation about opioid awareness. You may register to attend. However, registration is not required; it is simply for space considerations.

The evening’s program is appropriate for parents/caregivers and students in grades 6-12. All attendees will receive free REVIVE! Narcan training during the event and learn about support services currently available within FCPS and Fairfax County.

FCPS’ website also has resources to help you to start the conversation and additional support for families struggling with substance misuse.
