Principal Message

Hello Terraset Tigers and Friends!

I am pleased to announce Katie Aldridge, current Program Manager in the Department of Special Services, Office of Special Education Instruction, has been selected as the new principal of Terraset Elementary School. Ms. Aldridge has over 19 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, virtual program administrator, special projects administrator, and program manager. She is an energetic instructional leader who has extensive experience in schools working collaboratively with teachers to support all students.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Katie Aldridge as the new principal of Terraset Elementary School.

I have truly enjoyed my time here at Terraset. As a reminder, Winter Break is next week December 18 - January 1, and there will be no school.  Students will return to school on January 2nd.  The school office will be closed.  I would like to wish you all a safe and relaxing Winter Break with family, friends, and loved ones.

⛄ No Virtual Learning on Snow Days This Winter

FCPS will be returning to its previous procedure for snow days for the 2023-24 school year. There will be no virtual learning when school is closed due to bad weather.

During snow days, students may still access Tutor.com, complete any supplemental learning opportunities recommended by their teachers, and view educational programming (available online and on public access television channels):

Eleven snow days are built into FCPS’ existing calendar. Eliminating virtual learning days will enable us to maximize students’ in-person learning and provide equitable access to instruction and student services.
