attendance

Attendance Updates:  Even though our competition with Beech Tree has come to an end, our attendance rate last week was the highest yet at 96.32%.  Thank you, families, for your support in ensuring your children come to school.  The numbers tell it all...if a student misses just 2 days per month, that equals 30 hours of math instruction and 60 hours of reading and writing instruction over the course of the school year.  Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves.

Looking for a Sponsor:  Glen Forest Eagle Running Club is looking for sponsors to support our school and runners who started training from September 26th through November 16th on completing a 5k! Our race will be November 18th, 2023! Please reach out if you know someone who would like to sponsor our club and runners!

zones

Zones of Regulation: At Glen Forest, we teach our students strategies to recognize emotions and how they can manage these emotions.  The Zones of Regulation organizes our feelings, states of alertness, and energy levels into four colored Zones – Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red. The simple, common language and visual structure of The Zones of Regulation helps make the complex skill of regulation more concrete for learners and those who support them. We learn to regulate our Zones to meet our goals and task demands, as well as support our overall well-being.  Ask your children about which tools they use to self-regulate in each of the zones!
