Monday, October 2, was National Custodian Appreciation Day. We all have a clean, safe place to learn, teach, and work thanks to our wonderful Building Supervisor, Ana Quijada; our Assistant Building Supervisor Nana Bempah, Mrs. Harriet Otchere, and Amid Kamara.

Important Information

Heritage Night
This year’s Heritage Night will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

How to participate:

  • Provide bite-sized samples (enough for 50 people) of a food that you love from anywhere.  Please include a note for display that lists main ingredients, making sure to note allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame, and soybeans) so that attendees can safely sample your dish. If providing a food item is a barrier to your family being able to attend, please come anyway!  Want us to send you a reminder to bring food? Click our Food Reminder Sign Up (it will also help us plan)!

Optional activities and ways to get involved:

  • Sign up as a family or individual to share about your heritage/culture through a poster/display
  • Lead an activity such as parent-led conversations, activity, craft, tutorial, dance, book reading/storytelling, etc. Sign-up Here

Fall Book Fair
The Fall Book Fair is almost here. The fair will run Monday, October 23rd through Friday, October 27th during the school day, and will be open on Thursday night as part of our Heritage Night event.  Students will visit the library for a book preview and may purchase books during any school day that week or Thursday evening. As always, we are asking for volunteers to help us run the fair.  Sign up here

Scholastic is again offering families the chance to create eWallets — a digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases.  Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
