JROTC celebrated the Marine Corps JROTC 28th birthday. The Mount Vernon MCJROTC Program was founded on September 1, 1995 by Colonel DeHoust (USMC, Ret.) and First Sergeant Medley (USMC, Ret.) and over the past 28 years the program has instructed over 2,500 cadets in leadership and citizenship!

We are so very proud of our 2024 National Merit Commended Scholars! Lorenzo Gabriel Valerio and Wiman Vlach. These two IB scholars are well on their way to doing amazing things in the future. Congratulations!!!!

2023 FCPS College Fair and Virtual Postsecondary Week
The annual FCPS College Fair will be held at George Mason University’s Eagle Bank Arena, on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Approximately 250 colleges and universities will be represented, including two and four-year colleges and US Service Academies.
Following the fair, the Two-Night Postsecondary Virtual Event will be held on Monday, October 16 and Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Both events will help students be better prepared for the next chapter of their educational journey. Students may REGISTER HERE.

ASVAB REMINDER

High School Career Forum
The Virginia Williams High School Career Association, Inc. is hosting the 10th annual High School Career Forum (HSCF) for high school students, grades 9th-12th, on Sat. Oct 21, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Lorton Community Center (9520 Richmond Hwy, Lorton, VA 22079).
The HSCF is an opportunity for high school students to learn about different career fields available after high school graduation from a moderated panel. Projected panelists are: U.S. Coast Guard, College, Fairfax City Govt., STEM, Study Abroad, Medical, FBI, Renewable Energy and Trade. Students can register by going to visiting the website or scanning the QR on the poster: www.vwhsca.org
