Fairfax Academy,
We have had a wonderful September with our students. Earlier this week we gathered for an exciting Academy Kickoff. We enjoyed having all of our students across our 12 programs together to build community and celebrate the great things we have planned for the year. (Please see the Kickoff presentation below.) The next Academy-wide event will be Friday, October 27 for our annual Career Experience Expo.
Our dancers kicked off our performance with a crowd-pleasing performance at the City of Fairfax’s National Dance Day.
Next up will be our MTAS Sockhop Showcase on October 18. Also, check out the news for an awesome story highlighting our Fashion Careers program and their designs for Miss Virginia USA. (https://www.fox5dc.com/video/1282228)
We are still looking for a few awesome students to be our Academy Ambassadors this year. Please encourage your student to sign up if they are interested.
A reminder: On Wednesday, October 11, Fairfax HS will be giving the PSAT and the SAT. There will be no Academy classes or shuttles on PSAT Day.

Reminder: If your student will be absent, please report that to Academy so our attendance can be kept accurately.

Use a Pre-Arranged Absence form for field trips, pep rallies, altered base school schedules, medical appointments, and other absences you know about in advance.
