Advanced Academic Programs 

Information Meeting for Parents/Guardians of Children in Grades K-6

An information meeting will be held at Crossfield Elementary School on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria.  The AART will provide information about levels of service, briefly explain the screening processes, and answer questions about advanced academic services. 

Please watch this space for:

  • A date and time for a meeting regarding the screening process for full time AAP services (only for parent/guardian of students in grades 2 – 6)
  • A date and time for families of rising 7th graders who have questions about full time AAP options verses honors courses.

You're Invited! Open PTO Meeting & Coffee with Mr. Granieri

Please join the PTO Board and Mr. Granieri at our first Open Meeting of the year on Thursday, October 12 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The meeting will be held in person at Crossfield in the cafeteria and coffee and refreshments will be provided. Agenda items that will be covered: 

  • School Improvement & Innovation Plan 
  • Update from Mr. Granieri 
  • Approval of PTO Budget

Virginia Growth Assessment (VGA)

VGA is a state assessment measuring the extent to which students have learned the content and skills reflected in state standards and may also be used to measure growth in learning state standards. Crossfield Elementary is celebrating 35 Years!  Let’s make this year’s FUN RUN “OUT OF THIS WORLD” and raise funds to support our students, teachers and school.  On October 3rd, students will receive a FUN RUN T-Shirt and Kickoff Flyer with more detailed information on how you can support.  In the meantime, mark your calendars for the FUN RUN on October 26th and join rocket nation in celebrating 35 Years!

Student Monitor Position Needed

Hello Crossfield Community! Crossfield is in need of a Student Monitor from 9am-12pm daily for our Kindergarten Classrooms.

Hourly, $16.85 per Hour

Description: Provides supervision of students throughout the school day to include but not limited to the classroom, hallways, lunch, recess, specials and at arrival/dismissal; helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students; operates technology; performs administrative and noninstructional duties; ensures all layered prevention/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed; works with individual and small groups of students.

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Must be comfortable managing student behaviors in large and small groups, ensuring all layered prevention/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed; and has general familiarity/skills with basic office technology in support of teachers, students, and the classroom.

Parents, please remember that: All elementary and middle school students need to be accompanied & supervised by an adult while at the game. High school students who get dropped off must plan to have their rides waiting for them by 9:30 PM.
