Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19th in the school cafeteria from 6:30-7:30pm for our Advanced Academics Program (AAP) Information Night. During this session we will share information about the AAP program and answer any questions you may have.

Attendance Awareness Month! Classes had a great time cashing in rewards for beating Beech Tree in the attendance competition for Week 1! Yes, that is a pie in Principal Herndon-Wilson's face!
Week 2...So close, but we fell short in our attendance competition with Beech Tree this past week. Glen Forest had an overall 95.7% attendance rate and Beech Tree had a 96% attendance rate. The good news is that all of our classes hit the goal of 80% attendance for the week, with Ms. Cole's 4th grade class and Ms. Madigan's 1st grade class at 100%!
September is Attendance Awareness Month! Thank you for your support in ensuring your child is at school if they are not sick. If they have an appointment, please bring them to school after morning appointments or pick them up early for afternoon appointments. If your child is demonstrating school refusal, please contact your child's teacher or guidance counselor to see how we can help.
Let's beat Beech Tree again this week! Goooo Eagles!!!

GFES Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) NEWS
PTO Membership Drive: Please become a PTO member this year! You can sign up online at www.ptaglenforest.org or by returning the blue sign up form with payment to the school. The class in each grade level with the most sign ups by October 1st will receive a popsicle party courtesy of the PTO!

Fall Clubs: Fall Clubs will return the week of September 25th. The blue signup form came home on Wednesday, Sept 13th. Clubs fill quickly! Return the sign up form with payment to reserve a spot.
