Device Activity Report for Parents
FCPS has tools to help parents and guardians know more about their child’s activity on the child’s assigned FCPS device. These tools are provided by Lightspeed, our internet content filtering service, directly to the verified parent or guardian at no cost to families. You may sign up for a weekly Parent Report, which will provide a list of the top sites your child visited. After-School -Help Needed:
Do you have a local college student or high school student looking for a few hours of work to put gas in the tank? Or maybe you are someone looking to support our youth in a part time job? Liberty Middle School After-School Program is looking for staff to support Volleyball, Soccer, PE programs, Art Programs, and more from 2:00 or 3:30 to 5:00PM, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday. Pay is dependent on experience and education from $13.30 to $24.03/hour. To apply or for more information about how you can become part of our team, please contact Liberty Middle School After-School Office at 703-988-8230 or email sldonlon@fcps.edu. Thank you for considering being the difference in a child’s life.
The PE Department:
Physical Education Sweatshirts, Locks, and Uniforms:
The PE Department is excited for this school year and ready to work with your students to improve the health and wellness. Also, students can purchase Liberty Middle School PE sweatshirts and the optional physical education uniform on MySchoolBucks. Students are not required to wear PE uniforms for class but must wear athletic clothes and sneakers.
- To purchase please go to MySchoolBucks and order by 1 September.
- Sweatshirts, uniforms, and locks will be given out during PE classes after Labor Day.
- Students who receive free /reduced lunches can request a complimentary lock through their PE teacher.

Materials Review Committee:
We are seeking parent volunteers to serve on our Materials Review Committee. Committee members will read or watch the texts that teachers submit for approval to ensure that it is age appropriate for students. We will also meet monthly to discuss the texts prior to completing the required forms.
Please reach out to Maggie Wickham at mpwickham@fcps.edu if interested in serving on the committee this year.
Liberty Library Makerspace:
Our library makerspace could use a restock on items that students use often! Here are some of the items that we need:
- Crayola crayons (16-count)
- Crayola markers
- Duct tape
- Glue sticks
- Bottles of glue
- Masking tape
- Ballpoint pens
- Scotch tape
Feel free to reach out to our Liberty librarian, Maggie Wickham, with any questions: mpwickham@fcps.edu. All donations can be brought to the main office or brought directly to the library.
Thank you for your support!
Kiss and Ride Procedures:
Parents should enter and exit from the entrance closest to Compton Road. Please follow the signs and directions of school staff. Students may exit their vehicles starting at 7:10AM.
Please remember SAFETY and PATIENCE when dropping off (7:10AM) or picking up your student in the Kiss and Ride loop. In the mornings, please do not pull to the inside and pass cars as students are getting out. If there is a slow or stalled vehicle, a staff member will direct you around when it is safe to do so. 30 seconds seems like forever when you are in a rush. If possible, your student may walk or ride the bus.
In the afternoons, drivers may line up in the kiss and ride circle. Students will be dismissed at 2:15 and report to the kiss and ride circle. Staff will direct cars out safely, as soon as the student is in the car. Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation!

Remember joining does not obligate you in any way to volunteer. The act of joining helps us meet our goals. Joining also helps us to provide vital support and programming to the students and staff.
