A note from Dr. Goodloe

Dear Chargers,

On behalf of the Chantilly High School Faculty and Staff, it is my pleasure to welcome all of our students and families to the 2023-2024 school year. We are very excited to see our students at school on Monday, August 21. Classes begin promptly at 8:10 AM and dismiss at 2:55 PM. Monday will be an "A" Day.  Please read the important reminders below to be prepared for a great first day and year.

Our school-wide theme this year is Lead the CHARGE. We cannot wait to see how our students demonstrate our core attributes of Character, Honesty, Accountability, Respect, Growth, and Empathy in all that they do in our Chantilly school community. We are all connected!

We are here to support you!

Our administrative team and counselors partner with families to ensure a successful school experience. Visit the Chantilly Administration page and our Student Services page to learn more about which administrator and counselor will work with your family and how to contact them. Contact information for each sub school is included below.

Bus Information

Bus information can be located online through the SIS ParentVUE Mobile App, SIS ParentVUE online version and on SIS StudentVUE Mobile App.

SIS ParentVUE Mobile App: Login and select your child, then select Student Info. At the bottom of the screen you will see white text “Additional Information.”  Tap on the Additional Information text then scroll down to Transportation and you will be able to view the bus information.

SIS ParentVUE on the computer: Login and select Student Info on the left menu. Then scroll down to Transportation and you will be able to view the bus information.

Student Drop Off

We encourage Chantilly students to walk, bike or ride the bus to school. While Kiss and Ride is available,if a student is late, this results in an unexcused tardy whereas a late bus is an excused tardy. See more information below with student arrival, dismissal and Kiss and Ride details. Our procedures are designed with a focus on student, community, and staff safety. Please be sure to follow all directions of our staff when you visit us at Chantilly HS.

We value your feedback. Share your observations, suggestions, questions and celebrations with me here. I look forward to connecting with you at Chantilly very soon.

Amy T. Goodloe, Ed.D.

Traffic Flow and Student Drop Off/Pick Up:

Chantilly High School is a school of over 3700 people gaining access to a building with only two entrances and exits. Traffic is heavy at arrival and dismissal as is traffic on Stringfellow Road.

AM Arrival

Students are encouraged to walk, ride a bike, or ride the bus to facilitate an ease of arrival. Student Drop Off is most successful from 7:20-7:45 AM. Any student who arrives to class later than 8:10 AM due to drop off times will be marked tardy unexcused. For studnent and driver safety, do not drop students off on Stringellow Road.

Please review the diagram below.

The areas in RED areas are off limits to Student Drop Off due to bus movement and staff/student flow for parking.

The areas in WHITE are off limits as they are bus drop off and faculty parking.

PM Pick Up

Please do not drive onto campus until after 3:10 if you're picking up your child. Dismissal is very fast and there is not access to the parking lot before 3:10 PM due to bus loading and departure.

School Security and Admin are present to ensure the flow is as designed.  Please follow their directions. We appreciate your cooperation and support.

Immunization Requirements for Class of 2024 Seniors

The Code of Virginia requires all students to be immunized against certain communicable diseases prior to entrance into Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

All students entering twelfth grade will be required to receive one dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) administered at age 16 or older, and prior to the beginning of school.

Twelfth grade students cannot begin school in August without proper Meningococcal documentation.

Please provide one of the following documents to Liz Fisher at befisher@fcps.edu as soon as possible:

  1. An updated immunization record showing that the student has received the Meningococcal vaccine.
  2. A note on a healthcare provider’s letterhead stating the date the Meningococcal vaccine was given.
  3. A healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
  4. A notarized Religious Exemption Form which is available online

Immunizations are available from your student's healthcare provider or the Fairfax County Health Department. The Health Department clinic locations and hours are available online at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/immunization/school or by calling 703-246-2411.

Please contact Liz Fisher at befisher@fcps.edu if you have any questions.
