Principals' Message

Dear Freedom Hill Families,

A big congratulations to our Eagle preschoolers (some pictured above), who had their last day of school on Friday! They are going to be fabulous kindergarteners next year! For the rest of the school, we have arrived at the last week of the year. We look forward to many celebrations (and well as our rescheduled Field Day on Tuesday) before our students begin their summer break.

As a reminder, Field Day is now on Tuesday. Please send your child to school in appropriate clothing for the weather for the many water-based activities.

This week promises much joy as each classroom celebrates with an end-of-year celebration. Our students certainly deserve the fun after such a hardworking year. We will also be honoring our 6th grade class with our annual Promotion Ceremony. We hope to see you.

Friday is the last day of school, and all FCPS schools dismiss early. Freedom Hill will dismiss at 2:05 PM, and our front office will close at 2:30 so that all staff can attend our year-end celebration. There will be no Wednesday folders this week - all items will be sent home (including report cards) on Friday.

Have a great final week of the 2022-23 school year!

Nicholas Zapadka, Principal

Eric Kopacz, Asst. Principal

Health Clinic Medicine Pickup

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is FCPS policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
