Fairhill Forum: Fairhill Family Fun Day!

June 6, 2023

Dear Fairhill Families:

What an exciting time at Fairhill! Last week we had our sixth grade Ellipse Run and it was a blast. Huge kudos to our very own Mr. Phil Peevy for organizing this event. It's nice to see 6th grade students who have observed this long standing tradition for years to actually have their turn participating.   We also had a great turnout for our Spring Concert where our 4th, 5th and 6th grade musicians had the chance to share all they have learned throughout the year.

Looking ahead, this Saturday is our PTA Family Fun Day, starting at 10:00 AM on the Fairhill field. The weather looks perfect for the event so we hope to see you there to build connections and enjoy your time with Fairhill friends and family.

All our best,

Ted & Courtney

Fairhill Elementary End of Year Gifts 2023

Want to thank a Fairhill staff member for all they have done this past year?  Our PTA has made it easy to send them a gift card through GiftCrowd.  Please click here for the link.  Just click on that staff member's link and send them a gift card with your name and a note.

The gifts collection ends on 06/16/2023 at 12:00 PM. At that time, the gifts will be sent to their respective recipients.

Library

A note from the library

Thank you to everyone who has already returned all of their books back to the Library!  However, we are still missing 583 books. Please help your child look for any library books…at home, at relatives’ homes, at after-school care places, in backpacks, and wherever else books can hide.

On another note, we hosted two FCPL librarians from the Thomas Jefferson branch yesterday. Students learned about the public library’s summer reading challenge and their amazing summer programming. News from FCPS

Last Day of School and First Day of School

As a reminder, the last day of the 2022-23 school year is Friday, June 16. Students will be dismissed early.

The first day of the 2023-24 school year is Monday, August 21. See the complete school year calendar.

Remember to Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance!

It’s a busy time of year, and we know there are many priorities on your plate. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important for families to remember to check their students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.

Families who earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals (FRM). However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2023-24 school year will be available near the end of August.

Families who have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals are asked to fill out the FRM application for the 2022-23 school year.

If you are interested in helping to relieve lunch debt for families who are currently going through the FRM application process, you may donate to Educate Fairfax.
