WOES is Preparing for Field Day!

FIELD DAY Volunteer spots are almost full!!! There has been an overwhelming response from the community to fill up the volunteer spots for Field Day. As of now, there are only a few spots left in the morning and the afternoon (one of the water/rest stations in the afternoon didn’t have enough slots to sign up for so I made a correction). Please consider signing up. It is a super busy day, but your help will make it a day to remember. Descriptions are included in the sign-up genius. If you have any questions, please email either Mr. Hartzell (dhartzell@fcps.edu) or Mrs. Orr (rlorr@fcps.edu).

WOES An Approved Common Sense School

Common Sense

White Oaks has just been approved as a Common Sense School, an honor that recognizes our efforts in teaching digital citizenship to young people and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to helping students build skills that are essential for their well-being today—and for the opportunities they'll have tomorrow.

Did You Lose Your Laptop Charger?

The end of the year is closing in and the school will soon be collecting school-issued laptops and chargers.  Please speak to your student to make sure they can account for their charger.  If you are in need of a replacement for a lost or damaged power supply please visit the White Oaks school store on the MySchoolBucks website.  The current price for replacing a school laptop power supply is $23.00 each. For those of you unfamiliar with MySchoolBucks it is a user-friendly software program that all FCPS schools use so that families can easily pay for school meals, instrument rental fees, field trips, and other student fees that arise during their elementary, middle and high school years.

Register and log in to your MSB account to view the items in our WO school store and use a credit card or debit card to make the payment.  Receipts for MSB purchases/fees will be automatically received at our school and our technology specialist will deliver a replacement power supply to your student.

Message from the PTA

Your PTA Still Needs Additional Board Members

In order to keep the White Oaks PTA going, we still need a President and a Vice President. Unfortunately, without a full Board, in accordance with our membership in VAPTA and National PTA (as well as our non-profit IRS status) we will have to freeze our bank account, stop fundraising, and lose access to many benefits we have now to support our school. Please reach out to wopta.president@gmail.com to discuss how you can help our school community next year. If you would prefer to help on one of our committees next year, please complete the following Google

Planning for Next School Year

Please help us as we plan for next school year by completing the Student’s Intention for Next School Year form and the Parent Input Survey that were sent home earlier this month. Accurate enrollment numbers and parent input are important as we thoughtfully consider classroom placements for next year. If you need another copy of either form, please contact Marti Lee at mllee@fcps.edu
