P Message

Hello Scottie Families!

Thank you to our Bonnie Brae community for helping us make our staff and teacher appreciation week such a huge success!  We are so grateful to those who donated so much of their time and resources to show our Scottie staff how much we appreciate them.

Tonight we hold our 2nd annual Au-Some Family Fun Night, and we look forward to a special evening with our families of students with autism, from 5-6:30 PM.

As a reminder, the date for the PTO Spring Carnival was moved to next Friday, May 19, from 6-8 PM.  We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Have a great weekend, and a wonderful Mother's Day!

Mental Health Awareness Month

“May Day” is an emergency procedure word used internationally as a distress signal in voice-procedure radio communications. The new 9-8-8 number is a suicide and crisis lifeline, similar to 9-1-1 in a medical/safety emergency. One in six youth, aged 6-17, experience a mental health condition each year.  Please click here for more information on Mental Health Awareness Month.

SOL Testing Resources

As shared at our parent coffee this morning, here are some resources available to Bonnie Brae students to support with SOL test review.

Parent Input for Next Year's Class Placement

We are getting ready to discuss class placement for the 2023-24 school year and would love to get your input for consideration during these discussions. If you would like to provide input, please complete this form by May 19, 2023. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with you and your children to best support their learning needs.

Bonnie Brae Bookmobile

This summer, Bonnie Brae Elementary School (BBES) will introduce the Bonnie Brae Bookmobile to provide books to students during Summer 2023.  The Bonnie Brae Bookmobile will run on July 6, 2023 from 10 a.m.-12p.m. and July 25, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and will be stopping at four locations in the community, with the last stop being the BBES parking lot, to distribute books and popsicles to our students! Community stops will be announced before the end of the school year.

We need your support!  Please consider making a donation of any new or gently used books to support this summer reading initiative!  New and/or gently used books will be collected beginning May 8, 2023 through June 17, 2023 in boxes outside the library by the music room.  Questions or suggestions?  Please contact Karen Radcliffe at keradcliffe@fcps.edu.
