Yearbook Cover Design Contest
3rd Grade & 4th Grade Runners Up
Congratulations to 3rd grade student Zaid Hammood and 4th grade student Amber Lee on being two of the runners-up in the yearbook cover design contest (first and second image, respectively)! Their designs will be 2 of 9 featured on the back cover. Stay tuned each week for additional winner announcements leading up to our grade cover reveal after spring break. Want to be on the 2023-2024 GBE PTA Board?
PTA Board positions - President, VP of Communications, Treasurer, & Secretary - are one year terms so we will elect all 4 positions in May. Please reach out to the nominating committee (nomcom@gbepta.org) if you are interested. Note that the VP of Communications incumbent will not be running for reelection so we need at least one PTA member to run for that position. And if you're interested in being more active next year, but don't want to run for a board position, you can join a committee! While committees are not set yet, some possibilities include social, giving back, staff breakfasts, after/before school programs, fundraising, and grants. You can even recommend a committee and help take the charge on its activities. If interested in joining a committee, send an email to Lori (secretary@gbepta.org).

Boosterthon Fun Run
Committee Members Needed
Want to help but don't have much time? This would be a perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for help to reach out to our local business community to help sponsor our upcoming Boosterthon Fun Run in June. Pictures for Yearbook Are Needed
Have a picture (or more) that would be great to add to GBE's 2022-2023 yearbook? Send it to yearbook22-23@gbepta.org.
Underwear & Pants Needed!
GBE is in need of all sizes of kids' underwear and pants. Underwear must be new and unused while pants can be gently used but MUST be recently washed. GBE staff like to have these items on hand so that whenever students have accidents, they can quickly return to their classroom and not have to be sent home early. Clothing or gift cards can be turned into the front office. Electronic gift cards can also be sent to our Family Liaison, Wafika Albani (WMAlbani@fcps.edu).
Opportunity to Volunteer at GBE
Cafeteria Volunteers Needed
GBE staff are looking for adult volunteers to assist during lunch in the cafeteria. Lunches are from 11AM-2PM but you're welcome to come whenever works best for your schedule, particularly if you prefer to volunteer around your student's lunch schedule. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following:
- assist with cleaning and wiping tables in between lunch shifts;
- assist with sweeping floors in between lunch shifts;
- monitor students while they are eating;
- provide students with napkins, utensils, condiments, etc.
