SOL Testing Dates

Students in grades 3-6 in our school will be taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) this Spring. Federal Law requires schools to give SOL tests in reading, mathematics, and science. SOL tests measure the extent to which students have learned the contect and skills detailed in state standards. The test provide information about student achievement to the parents, school, division, and state. SOL scores are available for families before next school year. Terraset Es will be administering the SOLs on the following dates:

April is the Month of the Military Child. Schools are encouraged to recognize and celebrate the resilience and service of our military-connected children during April, the Month of the Military Child, and on Purple Up! Day, April 19. Schools are encouraged to participate in the district wide Spirit Week, April 17 - 20. This year’s themed colors align with Earth Week Spirit Week. Resources are available here and on the Hub

Terraset’s Got Talent

Guess what time of year it is? Yes, that is right, Terraset’s Got Talent! Sign up now to be in the show. The show is Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. You must come up with an appropriate act for the school and community! Try something creative and unique!

Applications are available in front of the library and Mrs. Gregston’s room #613 and the office round table!

The applications are due back to Mrs. Gregston by Wednesday, March 22nd.


2nd Annual Ambassadors Game Day

We are excited to announce the second annual Ambassador Game Day for K-6 grade classrooms! It will take place in two parts see below for details.

Wednesday, March 29, 2023

9:40 a.m. - 11 a.m.

4th, 5th, 6th grades

There will be two ambassadors facilitating games/activities for each classroom along with a floater and a parent chaperone. Ms. Perkins & Mrs. Szczesniak will be around to assist and oversee. We want this to be a gift of time for teachers and are in need of a lot of parents/volunteers.

The Sixth Grade Send-Off Committee would like to invite our Terraset community to help us give our sixth graders a special send-off to middle school! We suggest donating $29 for the Class of 2029, but any and all contributions are welcome and much appreciated. We're grateful for your help in ensuring that every sixth grader leaves with great memories and mementos from their last week as a Terraset Tiger. Terraset Music T-shirts

Attention all Band, Orcherstra and Chorus Member (All Grades)  

The music department will be ordering new t-shirts to wear for our spring concert. Place your shirt order through www.myschoolbucks.comIf you missed the deadline, we still need your order!

Questions about shirt order:

  • Who needs a music department shirt? Every child in 4th, 5th and 6th grade band, orchestra and chorus.
  • How do I order my shirt? www.myschoolbucks.com. Click on “Music T-shirt Fee.”
  • What if I can’t order from myschoobucks? Paper forms are available. Ask Mr. Andert
  • How much is the shirt? $6 ($8 for Adult XXL).
  • My child is in more than one group. Do they need to order 2 shirts? NO, one shirt is all they need.
  • When will shirts arrive? It will take approximately 2 weeks to complete the order once we have collected all the funds and sizes.

Terraset PTO News

Tigers on the Town on March 29thOur next Tigers on the Town Fundraiser will be at Chick-fil-A on March 29th. A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the PTO to fund events and activities. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Spring Tiger Clubs Registration is Next Week! - Online registration for Spring Tiger Clubs will open Thursday, March 30 at noon. The clubs lineup will be in this week's PTO News email and will come home in Tuesday folders next week. The clubs will meet weekly April 17-June 9. Volunteers are still needed to help with a few clubs, email tigerclubs@terrasetpto.org if you can help.

Restock the Terraset Snack Stash - Terraset needs some help replenishing their store of snacks for children who forget to bring one or aren't able to bring one from home. You can view the school's Amazon wish list here. Once you place the order, the item will be delivered directly to Terraset. You don't have to worry about receiving it or sending it in. Thanks so much for your help keeping all our Tigers healthy and happy.

Foldable Wagon Needed - Hello, Terraset families! Does anyone have a foldable wagon collecting dust? We are hoping to keep a wagon in the front office for families to “check out” for 24-hour periods should they need to transport items home without a car.
